Fiona's CV

  

  • Born in 1968.
  • Passed Grade 8 flute, with distinction, at the age of 11.
  • Passed Grade 8 piano, also with distinction, two years later.
  • Won the wind final of Young Musican of the Year in 1986.
  • Won both the Senior Wind Prize and the Senior Piano Prize in the same year at the Junior Royal Academy of Music.
  • Graduated from Cambridge University with a music degree in 1989.
  • Completed post-graduate training at the Guildhall in 1990.
  • Played flute and piccolo with the LSO, LPO, RPO and many other orchestras from 1990 onwards.
  • Produced, co-wrote and musical-directed church pantomime, Cinderella, in 1991.
  • Produced, co-wrote and musical-directed church pantomime, Robin Hood, in 1993.
  • Married Mike in 1993.
  • Produced, co-wrote and directed a musical, Thomas, in 1994.
  • Played flute, piccolo, recorder, ethnic flute and penny whistle in various West End shows, including Oliver, Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods, The King and I, The Beautiful Game and The Secret Garden from 1997 onwards.
  • More recent productions include Danny (in March 1998), Matthew (January 2000) and Jonno (August 2002).
  • Child's Play (2002) is Fiona's first CD. It's under her married name of Fiona Taylor (all the previous work was as Fiona Howes) because it's such a departure from her previous work.
  • Runs the music group at the local church.
  • Currently working on a mood-music CD and a worship CD.
  • Fiona lives in Crouch End, North London, and contributes to local kids' music activities.
